Providing holistic care for families facing fetal abnormalities and cultivating talent in the field of fetal medicine have long been key priorities for our organization.

In 2023, we united like-minded partners from the medical and media sectors to launch the「Saving Life Before Birth」 initiative. Focusing on critical issues such as fetal abnormalities and declining birth rates, we aim to raise public awareness and understanding regarding fetal medicine and the needs of affected families through social advocacy and public forums.

In 2024, to cultivate fetal medicine professionals with a global perspective and to extend the concept and model of holistic care for families expecting fetuses with anomalies to the international stage, the Association launched a scholarship program for a two-year, full-time 「International Clinical Research Fellowship in Fetal Medicine.」 Through a combination of clinical practice, research, and international exchange, the program aims to train medical professionals capable of bringing expertise in fetal medicine and the philosophy of holistic care back to their respective countries. (Please refer to the video below for an introduction.)

In 2026, with the full support of the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation, we further collaborated with Horizon Advertising and Surgmate Technology to advance the「Love. Courage. Set Sail」X「Saving Life Before Birth Project」ESG initiative. The Chang Yung-Fa Foundation responded enthusiastically with a generous donation of NT$3 million; of this amount, NT$1 million was designated as scholarships for international medical personnel to undertake short-term training in Taiwan. This support not only affirms the value of the Fetal Rescue Project but also enables Taiwan’s medical expertise and philanthropic vision to reach more countries—through talent development, international exchange, and the practice of holistic care—thereby offering support to more families facing fetal abnormalities.

From social advocacy and talent development to international exchange, we aspire to ensure that「Saving Life Before Birth」is more than just a slogan; we aim to make it a practice that moves steadily forward and transcends national borders.
